  4. He [Orson Hyde] has safely arrived in this place to dedicate and consecrate this land unto Thee, for the gathering together of Judah's scattered remnants, according to the predictions of the holy Prophets-for the building up of Jerusalem again after it has been trodden down by the Gentiles so long, and for rearing a Temple in honor of Thy name.

  5. Let them come like clouds and like doves to their windows. Let the large ships of the nations bring them from the distant isles; and let kings become their nursing fathers, and queens with motherly fondness wipe the tear of sorrow from their eye.

  6. Let that nation or that people who shall take an active part in behalf of Abraham's children, and in the raising up of Jerusalem, find favor in Thy sight. Let not their enemies prevail against them, neither let pestilence or famine overcome them, but let the glory of Israel overshadow them, and the power of the Highest protect them; while that nation or kingdom that will not serve Thee in this glorious work must perish, according to Thy word-Yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted."

  7. The Lord has decreed that the Jews should be gathered from all the Gentile nations where they have been driven, into their own land, in fulfillment of the words of Moses, their lawgiver. And this is the will of your great Elohim, O house of Judah, and whenever you shall be called upon to perform this work, the God of Israel will help you.

  8. You have a great future and destiny before you and you cannot avoid fulfilling it; you are the royal chosen seed, and the God of your father's house has kept you distinct as a nation for eighteen hundred years, under all the oppression of the whole Gentile world. You may not wait until you believe on Jesus of Nazareth, but when you meet with Shiloh your king, you will know him; your destiny is marked out, you cannot avoid it. (Wilford Woodruff, Matthias F. Cowley, p. 509.)

  9. After the Jews are gathered to Palestine in sufficient numbers and have built cities, cultivated farms and orchards, formed their government and executed their laws, they will have taken only the preparatory steps towards their redemption and the redemption of their land.

  10. An omniscient God foresaw the modern establishment of Israel as a separate nation-state. Historians have since acclaimed the remarkableness of how the United Nations voted to establish the state of Israel with the support of both the United States and the Soviet Union. It was a narrow political space window through which necessary events quickly passed, leading to the official establishment of Judah once again in the Holy Land. But it was a space window that was soon closed. • (Neal A. Maxwell, All These Things Shall Give Thee Experience, p.15)
