Update on PIA/GATF Product Certification Working Group Activities

The PIA/GATF Certification Working Group has seen active developments with several completed and ongoing items. Among the highlights are the finalization of DevCaps and testing protocols for 1.2 and 1.3 ICSs, with product beta testing underway. Currently, there are 12 certifications complete and 18 active, including the JDF 1.2 and 1.3 updates. Discounted packaged deals are available for certified products. For details, files will be accessible on the CIP4 website starting Monday. Interested contacts for more information include Mark and Brandon.

Active Work Items • PIA/GATF completed DevCaps and testing protocols for finalized 1.2 ICSs • LayCrImp ICS (Done) • PIA/GATF to complete DevCaps and testing protocols for finalized 1.3 ICSs • LayCrImp ICS (Done) • Several in the pipeline • MISPRE ICS (Done) • Several products beta testing • Minor DevCap issues • MIS to Conventional Printing – Sheetfed (Done) • Still need to complete one major concern for DevCap testing • PrePress to Conventional Printing (Done)

Work Items • Finalize MISPre and MISCPS DevCap files. • Current files will be available on Monday via CIP4 website (click link below). • DevCap website • MIS to Finishing ICS? • If interested, please contact Mark (mbohan@piagatf.org) or myself (biskey@piagatf.org) • I will have pricing for the next Certification WG meeting.

Summary • We currently have 12 certifications complete w/ 18 more active. • JDF 1.2 still available for LayCrImp • 50% discount when 1.2 certified product goes for 1.3 certification. • JDF 1.3 Update • LayCrImp 1.3 available now. • MISPre, MISCPS PreCP, and LayCrImp available. • We will do discounted packaged deals. • Multiple products in pipeline for JDF 1.3.
