  2. World War 2 Was a global military conflict which involved a majority of the world’s nations, including all of the great powers. They were organized into two opposing military alliances: the Allies and the Axis. World War 2 started from the invasion of Poland. The starting date was September 1939.

  3. Causes of World War 2 • The causes were: Hitler’s aims, The aggression of Hitler’s Allies, • Democratic powers were passive, • and The League of Nations failed to keep peace.

  4. Invasion of Poland • It was carried out by Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, and a small German-allied Slovak contingent. • The invasion of Poland marked the start of World War 2 in Europe.

  5. Munich Conference • was an agreement regarding the Sudetenland, which were areas along borders of Czechoslovakia, mainly inhabited by Czech Germans. The agreement was discussed at a conference held in Munich, Germany, among the major powers of Europe without the presence of Czechoslovakia. It was signed in the early hours of September 30,1938.

  6. Japanese expansion and Pearl Harbor • The Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor was on December 7,1941. • On 8 December 1941, America, China and Britain declared war on Japan.  Thus the Pacific War had begun.

  7. Rationing • Rationing was introduced at the beginning of 1940s. • To make the British weak, the Germans tried to cut off supplies of food and other goods. German submarines attacked many of the ships that brought food to Britain. • Rationing was introduced to make sure that everyone had a fair share of the items that were hard to get hold of during the war.

  8. War Bonds • War bonds are a type of saving bond used by combatant nations to help fund a war effort and as a monetary policyfor controlling inflation.

  9. Japanese Internment camps refers to the forcible relocation and internment of approximately 110,000 Japanese nationals and Japanese Americans to housing facilities called "War Relocation Camps", in the wake of Imperial Japan’sattack on Pearl Harbor.

  10. FDRFranklin D. Roosevelt During the Great Depression of the 1930s, Roosevelt created the New Deal to provide relief for the unemployed, recovery of the economy, and reform of the economic and banking systems.

  11. Joseph Stalin • was General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviets Unions Central Committee from 1922 until his death in 1953. • He was also part of the Big Three.
