Background Information on The Miami Heat The Miami Heat, whose home stadium is the American Airlines Arena in Miami Florida were previously beaten in the 2011 NBA Finals by the Dallas Mavericks after having a 58-24 record. The team was brought into the NBA in the 1988-1989 season sporting Black and Red away jerseys and White and Red home jerseys. There is unfortunately no mascot for the Miami Heat however their team logo is a flaming basketball swishing through a rim.
