  1. Cleaning Up Beer Spills on your Carpet Nothing beats drinking a cold beer while watching sports in your living room, relaxing after a hard day's work. Beer certainly needs no introduction as it is one of the world's favorite drinks. It's delicious, refreshing, and can really help you unwind or make an event more festive. If it gets spilled on your carpet though it can be quite a problem. Aside from causing a stain on your carpet, it can also be the source of unpleasant odor which can really put off your visitors and friends. Cleaning up beer spills and stains on your carpet is not that hard, just follow the guide below to help make this job easier and less problematic. Remove the Excess Beer – Use a clean white cloth to absorb the excess beer to help avoid it from seeping further into the carpet. Act quickly though as the longer you wait, the more difficulty you'll have in removing the stain. Apply Some Liquid Non-bleach Detergent onto the Stain – Get some liquid non-bleach laundry detergent which you'll apply directly onto the spilled area. Make sure that it it safe to use on your carpet before doing so though. To do this, just apply a small amount on an inconspicuous part of the carpet to see if it has no negative effects. If nothing happens then you are good to go. Blot the Stain – Use some paper towels to blot the stain and help remove it from the carpet's surface. Blotting from the outside moving in is the best way to get positive results. Repeat this step until the stain is no longer transferring onto the paper towel's surface. Create a Vinegar-Water Cleaning Solution – If the stain still persists, create a cleaning solution from white vinegar and water which will help break down the stain further. Mix a teaspoon of white vinegar with a cup of warm water and place the mixture inside a spray bottle. Then, apply the solution onto the stain and let it soak for a few minutes. The vinegar will aid in removing the stain as well as deodorize your carpet so it doesn't smell like alcohol even after you clean up the mess. Blot Again Using Paper Towels – Blot the stained area again repeatedly using paper towels. It may take a few tries but soon you'll have a clean and stain-free carpet once more. Rinse with Water – Rinsing the area with water is the last step of this guide. This helps in removing any excess cleaning residue which can cause damage to your carpet. After rinsing it with water, use a wet/dry vac to dry everything up. Nobody wants their carpet to smell like beer or to have a noticeable stain on it. The next time you have a beer spill, simply follow the guide above to easily and effectively clean up the mess and make your carpet clean and fresh again.
