Ed Paschke • Ed Paschke was influenced in his art work from his father who was an artist. • He loved color and fireworks inspired him as a kid. • He wanted his artwork to stand out so he could express himself and make a statement. • He chose images from electronic media rather than the print media.
In my collage, I used the juxtaposition technique of putting an object or a person into an environment that is unreal or not usually a normal environment for that person or object. I placed my head on the body of a mermaid and I placed myself inside a fishbowl. I added some more juxtaposition by placing a water bottle above the fish bowl to look like the water is pouring into the fish bowl. I placed a cat and Disney characters from the movie Finding Nemoinside the fish bowl which is an unusual environment for these objects and animals. I also used a little bit of feathering and distortion in my collage by making the characters a lot smaller than their normal size and feathering/ fading them to help disguise them into the photo.
In my famous painting scene, I put my face on the body of a girl in a boat by blending and feathering the edges of my face to match the body of the girl. I also desaturated the photo to give the final touch and to help blend everything together. In the scene I placed a photo of me smiling onto the girl’s body because the picture’s setting is very peaceful and the lady is very calm.
Famous Movie Scene My surreal collage is from the movie bridesmaids. To help my face to blend into the picture more, I feathered and matched the colors of my skin with the skin colors in the original picture. I also adjusted the brightness and contrast of the original picture to help my face blend in with the other colors from that picture. My surreal collage is from the movie bridesmaids.
