UNCLASSIFIED Kabul City Wishes Two Greenhouses • Assessment • 8DEC suggested, clearly, to DG to hire a grant writer. • 16DEC DG responds “plz introduce grant writer.” • 16-29DEC networked to find grant writer. • 17DEC wrote letter to DG to de-scope solarium style greenhouse expectations (no response-DG). • 29DEC interviewed lone grant writer applicant who appears to have necessary writing skills. • 29DEC suggested to DG to meet vetted writer. • 30DEC writer contacted DG who told the writer “DG will not hire writer, and that is Donor’s duty.” • 31DEC DG scales back greenhouse expectations. • Taking Action • Not sure what action to take. • It appears the DG is not particularly motivated to receive funding for greenhouses. • It seems TF Centurion has done most of the work to extend funding opportunity to DG, with minimal response from DG. • Need Commander’s guidance which stance to take with DG of Greenery. • TF Centurion Ag Advisor not inclined to push DG any more.
