Mikkelsen, Michael Mirtl, YaseminÖztürk, Dario Papale, NenadPotocic, David Simpson, Juha-PekkaTuovinen, TimoVesala, Gerhard Wieser, Elena Paoletti In this article, representatives from major European networks recommend a system of supersites for forest monitoring and research in Europe, based on a reasonable number of highly instrumented “supersites” and a larger number of intensive monitoring plots linked to these. The system needs to be based on existing infrastructures but requires more coordination, harmonisation and a joint long term platform. Prague meeting 14-16th June 2011

  6. Action FP0903 WG3 WG3 MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING - deliverables for WG3 1. Assessment of representativeness of existing sites for the installation of Supersites III 2. Recommendations and key priorities for geographical optimisation of Supersites III; 3.
