The P4P (Performance for P2P) initiative aims to optimize peer-to-peer network performance by enabling ISPs to share information about their physical network. This allows P2P systems to make informed decisions, improving delivery efficiency and reducing costs. With successful field tests involving major players like Verizon and AT&T, P4P is set to enhance download speeds and minimize Internet traffic. The P4P Working Group, composed of over 100 members across multiple sectors, invites further participation to establish industry standards and drive future innovations in P2P technology.
