The main focus of an occupational therapist is to rehab the patient so they are able to perform tasks that relate to their everyday life • One example of what an occupational therapist might do is to help children with disabilities fully function in school and social settings What does an Occupational Therapist do?

Some Common Problems OT’s Treat • Physical disabilities caused by a traumatic accident or debilitating illness • Decreased range of motion • Fine Motor Delays (Difficulty writing, buttoning a jacket, picking up small items) • Sensory Processing Disorders (Difficulties distinguish between smell, touch, taste, sound) • Everyday Tasks (difficulties with dressing, tooth brushing, eating) Thank You!
