Why?We believe that this will be the most responsive, effective and efficient way of delivering targeted services from the statutory and voluntary sectors to children, young people and their families to improve outcomes because we can: • Intervene and support early • Be closer to where people live • Support universal services • Respond to diverse community needs • Engage community in planning services • Gain collaborative advantage from professionals working together

We are on a journey so… • Set a strategic framework and build “bottom-up” • Recognise collaborative advantage • Build on good practice already in the city • Gain “ownership” and win hearts and minds • Engage the communities especially parents/carers and children and young people • Link the framework with strategic development of schools for the future • Live with uncertainty and evolve the future

  9. The journey so far …. • Locality data and needs analysis • Locality drop-ins • North West, South West and South East have locality boards • Locality Co-ordinator • DCSF bid for capital funds • Services organised by locality • Adopted by LSP for city

  10. As we develop we need parents to be alongside us "We want services for families to be more easily accessible/closer to where they live. From a parents perspective what would help us to achieve that?"
