  2. Goals of presentation • Understand the principle of operation of comparator in electronic. • Understand the principle of flip flop.

  3. topic • comparator. • Flip flop.

  4. comparator • The coparator is used to compare to votlage. • an op-amp in open loop configuration can be used as a comparator. • Vout = Ao(V1 − V2)

  5. comparator

  6. Flip Flop • In electronic, the flip flop is a circuit that has two stable state . • The O/P from devic can be one of two possible states. • The O/P will remain that way even after I/P signal are removed. • Flip flop can be used to store state information.

  7. Flip Flop • The flip flpo has basic three component • Latch • Clock • trigger

  8. Latch R=Reset S=Set

  9. Latches • The basic understanding a latch is that if 1 is sent as the set input then the output (Q) will be 1. • Likewise, if 1 is sent as the reset input then the output (Q) will be 0.

  10. NOR Truth & Latch Table

  11. NOR Latch

  12. NAND Truth & Latch Table

  13. NAND Latch

  14. Clock SR Flip-Flop Logic diagram Truth table

  15. Triggering of Flip-Flop Definition of clock pulse transition
