Information & Communication Technology 1 & 2 Rules & ProceduresMs. Clay • COMPUTER LAB RULES • ENTERING THE COMPUTER LAB… • Put your backpacks and other materials in the designated area. • Quietly get out your binder (with paper and pencil). • Be seated and ready to begin working. • Read the board each day to check for important daily assignments/announcements. • Follow all student handbook rules. • Be prepared for class with all needed materials, also be alert and ready to work. You will not be allowed to return to your locker. • Respect others’ rights and properties. • All assignments for ICT 1 and 2 must be completed in the school lab. • EXITING THE COMPUTER LAB… • Log off following the designated procedures. • Leave the workstation clean and in proper order. • Push your chair in. • Wait for the teacher to dismiss you. • Please leave the room in a quiet and orderly manner.

7. Rules & Procedures Continued • LABRULES • Check workstations at the beginning of class. Problems MUST be reported to the teacher at this time. Workstations are expected to be neat and clean at all times. • NO storage devices (CD’s, diskettes) may be brought into the lab. • NO food, drinks, candy, or gum allowed in the lab. • Remain at assigned station. • NO magnets allowed in the lab. • Courtesy and cooperation are expected at all times. • SCHOOL INTERNET POLICY • Access to the Internet is made available to students of Clara School. The goal is to promote educational excellence by facilitating research, resources sharing, innovation and communication. The Internet is to be used in support of research and education consistent with the educational objectives of Clara School and Wayne County School District.

Rules & Procedures Continued • COMPUTER / INTERNET USAGE RULES • Students are NOT allowed on the Internet without teacher’s permission. • Students are NOT allowed to download ANYTHING without permission from the teacher. • Students are NOT allowed to listen to online music. • Students are NOT allowed to play games on the Computer / Internet. • Students will use proper netiquette. • Students are NOT allowed to type any personal information into any website. • Students are NOT allowed to change or install screen savers OR desktop backgrounds. • Students are NOT allowed to add, change, or move icons on the desktop.

9. Rules & Procedures Continued • Make-Up Work Policy • As this is a computer performance-based class, very little homework will be given. The amount and quality of work completed in class will be of utmost importance. Therefore, attendance is a MUST if you are to succeed in this course. • Make-up work is THE STUDENT’S responsibility. Students must ask for missed assignments upon returning to class. • All computer-based assignments must be made up in the labs within the time limit given. • MATERIALS NEEDED FOR ICT 1 and 2: • 3-Ring binder with loose leaf notebook paper • Pencils • $10.00 lab fee • Positive attitude

10. Pathways to Success • Through Pathways to Success, all students will have the resources to identify, explore and attain their career and academic goals. • Students will investigate career options and identify individual programs of study (majors) related to their aspirations and abilities. • Use website www.ms.bridges.com • Beginning in 8th grade, students will develop and annually update an individual Career Academic Plan (iCAP). • This will be done in November. • The iCAP will carry through high school.
