  12. Mt. Kato • Mount Kato is owned by Afton Alps that is Located east of the Twin Cities. • Mount Kato is not only a place for skiing: • Snowboarding • Biking • Tubing • Mount Kato offers year round fun and excitement!

  13. Brief History • Mt. Kato was previously owned by the Anderson Family of Mankato. • It was purchased from them in 1977 by Afton Alps. • 1982-87 the back side of the hill was opened for skiing. • 1991-92 the add on of the ski shop was opened • 2000-2001 the new ski patrol/ski school building will be opened.
