Advisory Council • Your Advisory Council acts as your coaches, mentors, and sometimes as your safety-net. • DeMolay Advisors do NOT run the Chapter. • When the Chapter has decided WHAT you want to accomplish, your Advisors are a great source for experienced advice about HOW to accomplish your goals, but the choice will be YOURS. • Chairman • Chapter Advisor • Membership Advisor • Scribe Advisor • Ritual Advisor • Awards Advisor • Athletics Advisor • Representative DeMolay Advisor • Other Advisors as the Chapter needs

  6. Chapter Officers Elected Officers: Master Councilor Senior Councilor Junior Councilor Treasurer, Scribe Appointed Officers: Senior Deacon, Junior Deacon, Senior Steward, Junior Steward, Marshal, Chaplain, Sentinel, Orator, Almoner, Standard Bearer, and Preceptors

  7. Florida Districts • Florida is currently divided into 6 Districts. • Each District is served by a District Master Councilor, who is elected by the members of their District, and assists the individual Chapters of their District.

  8. State Officers • In Florida we have a State Master Councilor, State Senior Councilor, State Junior Councilor, and State Scribe. • We also have a State Sweetheart.

  9. DeMolay International Leaders • At the International level, the DeMolay youth leaders are: the International Master Councilor and the International Congress Secretary. • The International DeMolay Congress is the annual meeting of the International and Jurisdictional Youth Leaders. They work with the International Supreme Council to shape policy for DeMolay around the world. • The Adult Leadership includes the Grand Master of DeMolay, and a full line of Grand Officers. These are all members of the International Supreme Council. • The International Supreme Council is the governing body of DeMolay International.

Chapter Activities • Because you, the youth Members of DeMolay, decide what activities your Chapter will do, no two Chapters are exactly the same. • All DeMolay Chapters participate in a variety of social, civic, athletic, and fund-raising events. • Your Chapter’s Advisors may offer suggestions of activities or how to make activities more productive, however, the Active Members make the decisions of what your Chapter will do.

Get Ready to Get Started • Now you are ready for your Initiatory Degree. • You will promise on your honor to be a good person in a solemn ceremony. • The ceremony is designed to teach you about life as a good and honorable man. • There will be NO horse play or hazing. • Your parents, or legal guardians may attend the ceremony, but sisters and brothers who are not Members of DeMolay may not attend.

  12. Member Interests • You will now be given a survey sheet so that you can let the Chapter know what kinds of activities YOU want to do. • Be honest! You should feel free to put anything you want on the sheet. • Your Chapter will probably redo these surveys on a regular basis because your interests will change as you get older.
