  5. Facts… • She became deaf because of scarlet fever at the age of 19 months. It left her blind, deaf, and unable to speak. • She Grew up at an estate called “ Ivy Green” • She never really lived in one place after school. She traveled around the world, and became a world famous speaker.

  6. More facts… • As a child she was the target of bad humor, and tasteless jokes because of her handicaps. • She greatly impacted all deaf and blind people all around the world by going around and speaking.
