CONCEPT • A multicultural cooking program to learn cooking, acculturate, feel comfortable and socialise with ease • It’s a two day program involving shopping, learning about new cuisines and its history • This event is specially directed towards new students to encourage them to make new friends in a fun way

  3. HOW IT WORKS • Once in 2 weeks the promoters decide on the cuisine and the dishes to cook • First day - set up the cooking area - Shopping for ingredients • Second day - Preparing the dishes and having fun

  4. AIMS AND GOALS • Socialise • Team work • Make new friends and meet people • Learn/ improve cooking in a safe and fun environment • Learn about the culture and history of the cuisine from the master chefs

  5. AIMS AND GOALS • Acculturation and building a new culture • Promoting confidence in participants to cook • To learn on process of organizing an event, and encouraging to promote other events • The master chefs learn to be responsible and self disciplined

HOW TO REACH OUR AIMS AND GOALS • Split the participants into teams • Explanation of the history and culture is given whilst cooking • Working in teams improve the bonding ability • Organizing the event enables participants to see themselves as future promoters • People get highly motivated to continue cooking • Since the event is non-competitive, students can perform effectively

REALIZATION OF THE EVENT • Inform all students by putting up posters around the campus • The interested students can subscribe on the posters • Food tickets are issued via e-mail after a small payment • On the first day the participants gather to organise the cooking area with help from the promoters

REALIZATION OF THE EVENT • The participants are split into 3 major teams – starters, desserts and main course • The master chefs take the participants shopping for ingredients • On the second day, the participants gather at the cooking area • The master chefs guide them • The recipe leaflets are issued
