  1. Praying the Rosary Tell your partner what you know about how to pray the Rosary. To describe how to pray the Rosary (L3) To explain how God can speak through the Rosary (L4/5) To make a Rosary and practice praying it (L5)

  2. The “Hail Mary” is really 3 prayers in one. Which part of it comes from What Elizabeth said to Mary, when Mary visited her? What the angel said to Mary? What the Church asks for? 1.Write out the Hail Mary prayer as 3 sections. In a different colour pen, write under each section where that prayer comes from **When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby in her womb leapt for joy. Who was her baby? Why do you think he “leapt for joy”? “Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb,Jesus”. Holy Mary, Mother of God,pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.Amen.

  3. How do you pray the Rosary? 3rd 1. What do the letters stand for ? 2. Copy out as below, but write out in full what the letters stand for: 4th Apostles Creed Glory Be Hail Mary Our Father OF HM Gb AC 2nd 1st decade 5th Sign of Cross; AC; OF; 3x HM ; Gb ; 1st decade: OF; 10x HM; Gb *Draw your own diagram of theRosary & labels the parts. (the Gb at the end of one decade, and the OF at the beginning of the next decade, are said on the same bead). Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end, Amen. 2nd decade : as above 3rd decade : as above 4th decade : as above 5th decade : as above

  4. What should you think about when you are saying the Rosary ? Each decade (10 Hail Mary’s) is linked to a different part of Jesus’ life. As you say the Hail Mary’s, you are actually thinking about these different parts of Jesus’ life – egthe events of his birth, death or resurrection (=the joyful, sorrowful, glorious mysteries). So the Rosary is really about connecting to Jesus even though you are saying the words to Mary. What should you be thinking about when you are praying the Rosary? Give some examples from the pictures. What else are you doing while you are thinking about Jesus? ***Why is saying the Rosary difficult to do ?

  5. Praying the RosaryPray along with the video Make a decade of the Rosary • Tie your string making 2 big knots at either end • Make 10 smaller knots in between these big knots • Do 5 more knots at one of the ends How did you enjoy the prayer ? Share your feelings about it with your partner.
