Alberto Giacometti Born October 10th, 1901, and lived until January 11th, 1966; he was a swiss sculptor, painter, draftsman, and printmaker. His post-impressionist father encouraged him to pursue sculpture as a career, to which he did, becoming a renowned surrealist sculptor. Toward the early 60’s he was given many awards, that of which granted him celebrity. He is known today as a key figure in the existentialist movement.
