  8. Growth in Academic Tuition Income Tuition % fees gross revenue more than doubled over the last decade. Growth in operating expenses outpaced both the tuition & fees and total operating revenue.

  9. Expense as Percent of Revenue Before Endowment Draw Note. Anything over 100% shows reliance on endowment.

United States private nonprofit colleges and universities • Tuition and fees for the 2011-2012 academic year will rise an average of 4.5%, according to a survey of 429 institutions. • Consumer Price Index (Inflation Rate) in the U.S. July 2011 was 3.6%. • Thus, tuition for private college outpaced inflation 4.5% to 3.6%. AUC increases tuition fees for 2011-2012 by 9%. • US comparison would be 14.38% increase in tuition for AUC Consumer Price Index (Inflation Rate) in Egypt for March 2011 was 11.5%.
