  5. thea’s strength • 16 years of teaching • Graduate Studies in English(Boston College) • Parents become ill • Thea’s own battle with breast cancer

  6. thea’s strength • Goes through treatments • Active schedule • Receives countless awards for peace & justice • Harriet Tubman Award, and Viterbo College honors her with the Pope John XXIII Award • Dies on March 30, 1990 • March 30 known as her day of rememberance

  7. thea’s light • I think the difference between me and some people is that I'm content to do my little bit. Sometimes people think they have to do big things in order to make change. But if each one would light a candle we'd have a tremendous light"
