  2. Chain OneName different emotions Step 1. Show students a short movie Step 2. Students write down the different kinds of emotions according to the movie Step 3. Students exchange their answers and list some more other emotions Step 4. Teacher make a conclusion to help student grasp the meaning each emotion Task: Students can name different kinds of emotions and understand the meaning of them

  3. Chain TwoPlay different emotion Step 1. Show students some pictures of different emotions Step 2. Divide the students into several groups Step 3. Let one group of them play a emotion and others be judge then exchange the roles Step 4. Students discuss how they understand different emotions Step 5. Teacher give a comment on students’ discussion Task : Students understand how to express different emotions correctly

  4. Chain ThreeDiscuss the influence of emotions Step 1. Give students an example of emotions (e.g. a short story or an incident caused by emotion) Step 2. Students discuss what is the functions of the emotions during the example Step 3. Students give a speech on the influence of the emotions during the example Step 4. Teacher help students to conclude the influence of the emotions extend to other situations Task: Students can understand how emotions influence us

  5. Chain Fourdiscuss how to control emotion Step 1. Review the last lesson (how emotions influence us) then teacher give some examples of bad effects of emotions Step 2. Divide students into several groups to discuss some methods of avoiding bad effects of emotions Step 3. Each group send a student to show their methods then discuss the practicality of these methods Step 4. Teacher give some more advices on how to control emotions in different situations Task: Students learn how to control emotions in different situations

  6. Play different emotions Task : Students understand different meanings of different emotions how to express different emotions correctly Step 1. Show students some pictures of different emotions Teacher : We have learnt what is emotion last lesson. Now I will show you some pictures. Please write down what emotions they are , I’ll check them after 10 minutes.

  7. (10 minutes later , students finish their work ) T : OK , stop please . Now I’ll ask some students to answer what emotions they. Then teacher ask some students answer the question. S1 : …… S2 : …… …… T : Well done. Some of you do good job. It seems that most of have grasped the definition of emotion. Now we are going to learn the exact meanings of different emotions. Step 2. Divide the students into several groups T : Since you have grasped the definition of emotion, to learn something more about emotion, I’ll divide you into two groups. One group choose one kind of emotion and perform the emotion which you chose as you how understand it, the other group play as judge if the players perform the emotion not very well you can give them some advices.

  8. Give students 10mins to prepare for the performance Step 3. Let one group of them play a emotion and others be judge then exchange the roles T : OK, I think you have got ready for the performance. Now I will ask some of you to perform the emotion. After the student performing the emotion T : Well, he is a good actor. Let’s guess what the emotion did he perform? S1 : …… S2 : …… T : Is that right? Let’s ask the player who perform it. Sp : It’s …… T : OK, Is there any one who think he performer not very well? Who have any advices? S3 : …… T : That’s right, very good. Anyone else? S4 : ……

  9. T : Very good. S4 give us a perfect advice. Sp should pay attention to this point. OK, who is next to perform a emotion? Sp2 : …… (Ask some more students to perform emotion and make some comments) Step 4. Students discuss how they understand different emotions T: Now I will say some situation and you will tell me the emotion in the specific situation. Warm liking or affection, affectionate devotion. For example a mother’s love for her children. What’s the emotion between the mother and the children? S: Love T: Right. It's love. Now in my hand there are 6 cards. In each card there is a specific situation. You may read the emotion first. When one member of your group who is read it the others will discuss and try to find the emotion in it. When you find all the emotion in the cards you may choose one representation to write the answer of your group in the blackboard

  10. S1: feeling of great happiness. For example, the sheer joy of seeing you again after all these years. S2: joy ! This emotion is joy. S3: feel hatred towards (sb/ sth) strong dislike, for example plastic flowers are a particular hate of mine. S4: hate !The emotion in this card is hate! S5: caused by the nearness or possibility of danger, pain, evil or be afraid of (sb/sth) For example, the thief went in constant fear of discovery. S6: fear, fear is one of the emotion!

  11. S7: instance of this; act or remark that shows a person to be disappointed, for example he was jealous of Tom’s success. What’s the emotion? S8: disappoint S9: strong feeling of displeasure and hostility. He is filled with anger at the way he had been tricked. S10: It is anger!! S11: feeling of sadness or distress caused by loss, disappointment or regret. She is sorrowing over her cat’s death S12: sorrow.

  12. T: Now you will choose one representation in each group to right the answers which you find in the blackboard. And let us check it. (some student come to the blackboard and write the answers ) T: Let me see. Very good. You have found all the 6 emotions. Step 5. Teacher give a comment on students’ discussion T: So the emotion is love, joy, hate, fear, disappointment, anger, sorrow. There also are many other emotions. You can see the pictures which I have shown to you. T: If someone haven’t found it, you may look at the blackboard and write the answer on your note book. Any question? And now I will give you 10 minutes to make sentences use the 7 emotion S: ……………….. T: Ok, each group tell me one sentence. ( students tell their sentences )

  13. T: So much for today, homework. After class you read and remember the definition of emotion, know how to understand emotion. Try to make sentence of situation for each emotion. T: Second, Try to understand the exact meaning emotions of other pictures we didn’t mention in class Class is over.
