Historia del Arte Barroco • Tradicionalmente se denomina "Barroco" al período que transcurre desde el siglo XVII al XVIII. • El estilismo especial que caracteriza al arte barroco alcanzó su momento de madurez en plena Italia hacia 1630 y se desarrollo cuarenta años después. •  En el barroco podemos distinguir tres períodos: temprano o primitivo, de 1580 a 1630, pleno, de 1630 a 1680, y tardío o rococó, de 1680 a 1750.

Estilo del arte barroco • En el barroco la figura humana se alza como objeto decisivo del arte. • El barroco plasma la realidad tal y como la vez, con sus límites imprecisos, sus formas que salen y entran, los objetos de primer plano intrascendentes, los escorzos y las posturas violentas, y las composiciones diagonales que dan a la obra gran dinamismo. •      Se acude a los temas religiosos, escenas de santos, mitología, el retrato, tanto el individual como el de grupo, y surge como tema nuevo el bodegón.
