2. Mound on Undefeated • The 11 October, also known as The Uprising Day in Macedonia and The Day of the uprising of the Macedonian people is a state holiday, celebrated on 11 October. It was an uprising against fascism and it represents the beginning of the fight for liberation of the Macedonian people. Macedonia had become a hot spot for the occupiers with its fight, and contributed in the victory against fascism in WW II.

3. The beginning of the uprising in Macedonia is marked by the attack of the Partisan unit “ GoceDelcev” in Prilep on 11 October 1941. During the attack the partisans were organizes in three groups. The first group attacked the Bulgarian police station, the second attacked the jail and the third group was ordered to cut the phone wires and the electrical installations. 16 partisan took part in the attack

4. Celebration • In Macedonia • Because of the fact that it is an important event in the Macedonian history, different celebrations are organized throughout the country . Numerous delegacies from the Macedonian Parliament lay flowers on the tomb of the first president of the Presidium of ASNOM , MetodijaAndonov Cento in the Park of the Revolution in Prilep, as well as the Ossuary of the fallen fighters of the revolutionary fight in Kumanovo. Every night beore the holiday there is a traditional improvised attack on Prilep as a a reminder of the historical events in the eve of 11 October 1941. • There is a Memoriam Museum “ 11 October” in Prilep, where hundreds of photos and significant documents of the revolutionary fight are displayed. The Prilep’s city orchestra organizes route from the centre of the city to the Hillock of the undefeated , where apart from the moving orchestra there is a big fireworks display. There is a special importance in the laying of the flowers in the Partisans Graveyard in Skopje on the behalf of numerous delegacies of the Government, the Parliament, The President Of Macedonia, The Ministry of Defense, The Army Headquarters and the City of Skopje. There is also a formal academy and addressing of numerous Macedonian citizens and former partisans in the Hall of ARM in Skopje. 5. In the Diaspora The holiday is celebrated not only in Macedonia but also around the world where there are Macedonians. There is a traditional celebration in the capital of Great Britain, London. Macedonian groups in Germany organize celebrations every year with the performance of different musicians.

6. The Prize 11 October • On the occasion of this important holiday in Macedonia, there is a traditional prize “ 11Оctober ” awarded for life achievements in the area of science, art and other fields. The prize is traditionally awarded in the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia. According to the Law of state prizes of Republic of Macedonia, this prize honors the highest acknowledgements for life achievements in the area of science, art and other fields of public interest. The prize is awarded to individuals, groups of authors, teams, trade companies. Under certain circumstances, foreign citizens, group of authors, trade companies etc. can be awarded with the prize.
