Key Milestones • Enhancement discussion at NAAUG 2000 • Appointment of Working Groups - June 2000 • Meeting with Udi Arad at Berlin ICAU meeting - October 2000 • Receipt of Enhancement requests from Working Groups - December 2000 • Submission to EL - December 2000 • Response from EL -March 15, 2001

  3. Ex Libris Commitment • Michael Kaplan will be the contact person • No more than 50 requests to be submitted in December 2000 • Ex Libris will assign “development points” up to a total of 150 points • Ex Libris will respond by March 15th • NAAUG will vote on requests and submit final list by end of April 2001 • Ex Libris will implement top 100 points of request in Version 16x

  5. Working Group Membership • Volunteers • Attempt to represent several institutions • Appointment of a Chair • Creation of Working Group Listservs

Enhancement Process • Working Groups identified, described and prioritized requests • Tracking numbers assigned “WG-YYYY-###” • WGs also assigned three levels of priority – high, medium, low • Master Request List assembled • Master list priority – One list of “High Priority” one list with Medium and Low Priority” • High Priority List – 51 items - first priority from each WG, then second, then third, etc. • High Priority List sent to Ex Libris – December 2000

Enhancement Process (cont.) • Enhancement list researched by Ex Libris • Ex Libris assigned “development points” • Annotated list sent back to NAAUG – March 15, 2001 • Five Categories of Responses • Development – points assigned • Already in development • Already available – need to work with Support • Request not detailed enough to evaluate • Ex Libris will not develop at this time

  8. Enhancement Process (cont.) • Ex Libris Responses sent back to WGs- April 5, 2001 • Clarifications received from WGsand sent to Ex Libris- April 2001 • NAAUG selects those enhancements to be formally requested for version 16.x

  9. Proposed Process for Voting on Enhancements • List on a web site all enhancements for which EL has assigned development points • Allot each institution 100 voting points for each “membership” in NAAUG. • Each institution assigns voting points to each enhancement they wish to support

  19. 2001-2002 Proposed timeline • WGs reconstituted - by July 15 • Top 10 requests to Coordinator - Oct. 30 • Combined list sent to EL - Nov. 30 • List returned to NAAUG with points assigned - Feb. 28 • List mounted on Web for voting April 1-30 • Final list to EL - May 1
