NOMS funded provision in the North West • 5 Probation Trusts – co-terminus with counties • 16 prisons – 13 Public Sector (1 Juvenile, 1 Women’s and 1 competed), 2 contracted, 1 High Security • Electronic Monitoring • European Social Fund – Achieve NW • Bail Accommodation and Support Service • Attendance Centres

NOMS changing Headquarters structures and functions • Four main Directorates • Commissioning and Commercial Directorate • Functional design – community, custody and co-commissioning • North West and West Midlands “patch” for community and custodial commissioning • Reduced Headquarters capacity • Increased expectations of providers to lead/influence local commissioning • National Commissioning Intentions published – comments welcome • http://www.justice.gov.uk/about/noms/commissioning.htm
