Chemical Weathering types • Acid Rain • Burning fossil fuels (oil, coal, and gasoline) • Byproduct produces gases (sulfur, carbon, and nitrogen) compounds produced • Compounds combine with water vapor in clouds forming acids (carbonic acid) • Raindrops fall as acid rain causing rapid chemical weathering
