  3. Education • Read books=science and philosophy • At 17 took a telegraph in Canada • Began to hate mathematics • Asked to repair telegraphic machine showed gold prices in 1869 • Didn’t do well in school teachers said he was stupid

  5. Later Life • Married Mary and she died in 1884 • Thomas got married again to Mina Miller in 1885 • Proposed to both in a very unusual way • Registered 1093 patents and had made millions from his inventions • Thomas passes away in 1931
