  1. ACCOMODATING THE PRESENCE OF GOD: Text: Psalm 22:1-5 Intro: Heavy people usually needs a seat. An obese person who won’t enter a house without a heavy duty seat for him. God’s glory is so heavy that He needs a seat/throne for Him to rest. Aim: For us to understand what it takes for God to inhabit within us. For us to accommodate the presence of God.

  2. I. WHAT IS A PRAISE? The extolling or exaltation of a deity, ruler, or hero Expression of approval, commendation, or admiration It is the incense that filters the glory of God Lev 16:13 "And he shall put the incense on the fire before the LORD, that the cloud of incense may cover the mercy seat that is on the Testimony, lest he die. A cloud where God could hide His presence lest we die Mat 17:5 While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!"

  3. Exd 33:20 But He said, "You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live." It is the seat that makes God inhabit-v 3 The sacrifice God wants us to offer to Him- Hebr 13:15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. Praise together with faith pleases God-Heb 11:6 Mat 14:6 But when Herod's birthday was celebrated, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod. Mat 14:7 Therefore he promised with an oath to give her whatever she might ask.

  4. II. WHY DO WE PRAISE HIM? Because we were created to praise Him Psalm 148:5 Let them praise the name of the LORD! For he commanded and they were created. It is our first duty to praise Him as commanded. The first 3 of the 10 commandments refers to praising and worshipping Him. You shall have no other gods before Me- exalt Him only You shall not take the Name of the Lord in vain-Exalt Him, extol, praise Him Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy-No work to be done but to praise and worship Him

  5.
