Richmond Chamber Board Member welcomes by: John Ziesenhenne, M.A Hays insurance, chair of economic summit, McKinley Williams, President of CCC, Mayor Gayle Mclaughlin, city of Richmond • 8:30 Speaker: Dr. Christopher Thornberg, Founding partner of Beacon Economics LLC • 9:45-10:35 workshop 1 • 10:50-11:40 workshop 2 • 11:40am lunch • 12-1:00am speaker: Sunne Wright- Mcpeak, president and CEO, California emerging technology fund • 2:00 Adjourn

  4. Speaker: Dr. Christopher Thornberg • Founding partner of Beacon Economics, LLC • One of California's leading economic forecasters. • He talked about how the Bay area is in recovery mode • Getting good signs • Growth signs: two D’s for double dip • No driver no data

Speaker: Dr. Christopher Thornberg continue • US economy is behind by 8% • California got hit the worst economy wise • Because its exposed to Housing prices increase/decrease Exports- goods/tourism/license Business spending • Richmond has an 8% of vacant homes • “Stop house prices from going up” • Consumers overspending • Tax cuts need to stop schools, roads, hospitals etc..
