  1. Wish Carefully!In “The Monkey’s Paw,” as in many stories that feature wishes, the wishes themselves may have catastrophic results. Any wish for change may have positive and negative consequences. On a sheet of paper, list six wishes you might like to make. Then create three columns across the page—one for the wish itself, one for possible positive consequences of each, and one for possible negative consequences, as shown below.
