Offshore Associated Gas • Current FPSOs are targeted at oil production • Many deepwater fields have a large associated gas component • Associated gas has to be handled • Power generation - usually not for export • Re-injection - high cost, longer-term issues such as gas breakthrough • Flaring - generally not a long-term solution • Associated gas can be a valuable resource • However, can we afford to use it?
