  11. Military Incentive Program MIP tax credits vary with the target group of the veteran

  12. MIP Promotes The employment of West Virginia veterans, Reservists, National Guard members, disadvantaged and all disabled Korean and Vietnam Conflict Veterans.

How It Works The actual percentage is equal to the percent of service connected disability compensable by the Veterans Administration for disabled veterans. • Tax credits are based on a percentage of the first $5000 in wages paid to the individual after one continuous year of employment. • 30% tax credit for hiring economically disadvantaged Korean and Vietnam Era Conflict Veterans • 25% for unemployed members of the Guard and Reserves • 10% to 100% for disabled veterans

  20. Federal Bonding Program What is Federal Bonding? Federal Bonding is insurance to protect employers from employee dishonesty…. guarantees a worker’s honesty, gives incentive to employers to hire an at risk job applicant, and is a unique tool for marketing applicants to employers.

  21. Why Federal Bonding Is Needed • For at risk job seekers • Insurance Companies will not cover risky job applicants • For anyone who has ever “committed a fraudulent or dishonest act”

More About Federal Bonding • Covers any employee dishonesty at or away from the workplace • Any full or part-time employee paid wages with federal taxes automatically deducted can be bonded • Self-employed workers are not covered • A total of $5,000 is usually issued, with NO DEDUCTIBLE amount of liability to the employer • Bonds can be issued to cover already employed workers who need bonding to prevent being laid off or secure a transfer or promotion to a new job at the company
