Hephaestus. Also known as Vulcan and Mulciber. Qualities of Hephaestus. Hephaestus’s Role on Olympus. Hephaestus is the god of fire and smiths. His wife is Aphrodite, and he is the son of Hera and Zeus. He makes many items for the gods, such as their furniture, weapons, and their armor.

  2. Qualities of Hephaestus Hephaestus’s Role on Olympus Hephaestus is the god of fire and smiths. His wife is Aphrodite, and he is the son of Hera and Zeus. He makes many items for the gods, such as their furniture, weapons, and their armor. Hephaestus is the only god considered physically ugly. Hera threw him off of Olympus because she was ashamed of his ugliness. He is generally a peace loving god who is a hard working smith of the gods.

  3. Hephaestus’s Effect on the Greeks Hephaestus was the god of the ceremony for when children formally became part of a city in Greece. He shared a festival and a temple with Athena which still stands in Athens

  4. Vulcan Materials Company Vulcan Materials Company produces construction aggregates such as sand, gravel, and crushed stone and aggregates, such as asphalt and concrete. Vulcan is another name for Hephaestus, and he is the god who made practically everything. The company named themselves after him because they are the producers of building materials. Aggregate: a mineral mixture resembling rock
