Plant 17 Lighting Energy Reduction Project

The Plant 17 Lighting Energy Reduction Project, led by Facilities Energy Engineer Phil Munsey, transformed Allison's Parts Distribution Center with an innovative lighting upgrade. The building, featuring precast cement wall panels and a spacious 360,000 sq. ft. warehouse with 40' ceilings, replaced old metal halide fixtures with energy-efficient T-5 fluorescent lighting. This change resulted in a significant reduction of 1,320,000 kWh per year, equating to a 30% decrease in electrical energy use, significantly lowering operational costs and environmental impact.
