Herding SheepJohn 10:1-6 Shepherds, Thieves, and Sheepfolds The context of the story No transitional words, so it is connected to chapter 9 Not necessarily spoken on the same occasion Jesus is referring here to the incident of the blind man Therefore, the thieves and robbers refer to the false shepherds of Israel (Pharisees) and the sheepfold represents Judaism The ones who hear Christ’s call and respond are His own in Israel of whom the blind man is an example
