  2. ESL is….. • ESL is an additional school service provided to enable a student to succeed in the classroom. ESL certified classroom teachers or an ESL teacher will help develop English language skills, cultural awareness and learning strategies which students will need to work successfully in the classroom.

  3. Types of ESL Support In The Classroom • Classroom support-ESL certified teacher assists with the acquisition of the English language • Pull-out support- small groups for specialized language instruction • Self contained classes of only ESL learners
