What is « Youth in Action » • 2007 – 2013 • Legal basis: Decision of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing the Youth in Action Programme for the period 2007-2013 • 885 million € • The “Youth in Action” programme: • mobility and active participation • financial support • non-formal education Service National de la Jeunesse

  3. Who can participate? 1. Programme Countries (PC): • 27 member states of EU • 4 EFTA/EEA countries (Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland) • 2 EU accession candidate countries (Turkey, Croatia) 2. Neighbouring Partner Countries (NPC) 3. Other Partner Countries of the world Service National de la Jeunesse

  5. Actions of the Programme • Action 1 – Youth for Europe • Action 2 – European Voluntary Service • Action 3 – Youth in the World • Action 4 – Youth support systems • Action 5 – Support for European cooperation in the youth field Service National de la Jeunesse

  6. Action 1.1: Youth Exchanges • Age: 13-25 • Project duration: 6-21 days • Size: Bi-, tri- or multi- lateral exchange • Number of participants: 16-60 participants Service National de la Jeunesse

  7. Action 1.2: Youth Initiatives • Age:18-30 • Project duration: from 3 – 18 months • Group: at least 4 participants • Place: any Programme country • Potential themes: health, culture, history, … Service National de la Jeunesse

  8. Action 1.3: Youth Democracy Project • Age: 13-30 • Project duration: from 3 – 18 months • Number of participants: at least 16 participants • Theme: support young people’s participation in democratic life Service National de la Jeunesse

  9. Action 2: European Voluntary Service • Age: 18-30 • Project duration: up to 24 months • Activity duration: up to 12 months • Theme: social, environment, culture,… Service National de la Jeunesse

  10. Action 3: Cooperation with the Neighbouring Partner Countries of the European Union • Youth Exchanges • Training and Networking with Neighbouring Countries Service National de la Jeunesse

Action 4.3: Training and Networking of those active in youth work and youth organisations • partnership building activities, • organising seminars and trainings, • meetings for the development of further projects (feasibility visit), • evaluation meetings, • job shadowings, • study visit, • networking activities Service National de la Jeunesse

  12. Action 5.1: Meetings of young people and those responsible for youth policy • supports cooperation, • cooperation and seminars, • structured dialogue between youth work and those responsible for youth policy Service National de la Jeunesse
