  3. Day 1 This week we will talk, sing, and write about how animals help people. How do animals help people?

  4. Build Oral Language • Look at the cow in the picture. Cows produce, or make, milk. How does a cow’s milk help people? • Transportation is a way to move from place to place. What does the picture of horses have to do with transportation? • In the past, oxen like the ones in the picture helped farmers plow fields so crops could be grown. Why didn’t the farmer do this by himself?

  6. Amazing Words • Oxen used to pull wagons that were used for transportation. Transportation is a way to move people or things from one place to another. Long ago, people rode horses or sailed on ships for transportation. Today many people use a car as their main type of transportation. Some children ride the school bus for transportation every day. Name some forms of transportation you have used.
