Brief analysis Act v • When the final prophecy comes true and Macbeth is left to face reality, he sees what a fool he has been. “…Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player/That struts and frets his hour upon the stage/And then is heard no more./It is a tale/Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing.” • Macbeth, the tragic hero, let his desire for power take over and he ends up killing everyone & everything that mattered, leaving him with nothing.
