  2. You, Your Multi-Generational Partner, and Your Notebook • You have learned a lot about another person’s life – and now it is time to share this information and reflect upon your experience in this class through the creation of a Springpad digital notebook.

  16. Narrative and procedure • The following slides will tell you how to turn the information and artifacts you have collected to tell your partner’s life story (“Narrative”) and how to create the appropriate pages of your digital notebook (“Procedures.”)

WHERE DO WE BEGIN? narrative Procedure Begin creating your notebook by adding a map, photo, or other media that reflects on the questions presented in the narrative. • Use information from your partner’s interview as an outline. Begin telling their life story from the beginning. When were they born? Where were they born?

  18. Childhood & School Days Narrative procedure Insert photo or your choice of media that reflects the questions presented in the narrative. • Where did your partner go to school? How long did they attend school? What was their school like? What did they study?

  19. Historical context Narrative procedure Insert video or your choice of media that reflects the questions presented in the narrative. • What was happening in the world during the childhood of your partner? How did this affect them? What are their memories of these events?

Suggestions for Enhancing your springpad digital notebook • Choose interesting vivid pictures from the internet. • Take your own digital photo or documents. • Choose maps that are clear and specific. • Create of visual representation of your partner’s life. • Research world event that were important during your partner’s life. • Include a variety of digital media.
