Why Work Extra Hours? • Build rapport with faculty • Get faculty ready for the tech part of Common Core • Make faculty more computer literate in small group setting—they come because they want to, not because they are made to get the hours • The school pays us extra but not what we are worth (LOL) • The district gives PD credit for attendance and uses their signup system for registration--- My Learning Plan • Teachers from around the county hear by word-of-mouth and some who aren’t working and need hours • It is free PD; it is short and to the point; one concept at a time
Caveat • Make sure the video clips and websites are not blocked on teacher accounts • Sometimes you have more rights than the regular classroom teacher • Nothing can ruin a one hour workshop like not being able to play the intro YouTube video • Make sure you have guest logins for those that show up who are not in your district
