  13. Currently Illinois has 99 functioning RWIS sites. Most are located in the northern 2/3 of the state.

  14. Of those 99, 59 are owned by IDOT. The others belong to the Tollways and Chicago.

  15. All sites are accessed through a dial-up interface. And data is transferred to collectors in each district.

  16. That data is sent to the RWIS Servers in Springfield. There are two servers: one for road weather and the other for climatic weather.
