Born September 8, 1954 • Grew up in Flint, Michigan • Second oldest of six boys • Attended a Catholic School from 1st Grade through 9th Grade • Became a Wolf Scout at 8 years old • Attended Culver Military Academy with Older Brother in Indiana • Published his first book in 1989, The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs Background

  3. Scieszka was awarded the Caldecott Honor Award for his 1992 book called, The Stinky Cheese Man: And Other Fairly Stupid Tales. Major Accomplishment

  4. The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs! This was Scieszka’s first book that he ever wrote. It was published in 1989 after a change in the title from A Wolf’s Tale after it was rejected from publishing. (JS Worldwide)

  9. As you are to begin teaching Math, you can use this book as a way to show where and how math can be used in a normal day. • You could use it to begin teaching how to divide and multiply as a way to get kids interested in the subject with the humorous manner of writing. Math Curse?
