  3. Overview Most important to determine the correct tonnage's by accurate bulk densities and reliable volumetric surveys. We believe that such monitoring should be done by an independent and unbiased agency, and not be monitored by a party who might have a vested interest. Automatic 3-dimensional Dynamic Measurements: 3DM Contact-free measurement technique based on photogrammetric principles Custom-designed for repetitive and fully automatic measurement tasks. Applications include: 3DM Volume surveying system, 3DM Truck, train and hopper volume measurement & 3DM bunker measurement system. The unique benefits of the 3DM Technology include 3D measurements of moving objects or objects changing shape, fully automatic during operation and provide permanent, digital, records of the objects. Key strength of 3DM Analyst is versatility - Any size object can be measured, from a range of a few metres to several kilometres away. with the results available in seconds, almost in real-time.

  5. Automatic Stockpile Monitoring Close-Range Photogrammetry is an accurate, cost effective technique of collecting measurements of real world objects and conditions directly from high resolution IP cameras. Photogrammetry utilizes digital images to obtain accurate measurements and geometric data of the coal, in order to provide spatial information for 3D measurement. Benefits of close-range photogrammetry : Increased accuracy; complete as-built information; reduced costs; Do not need to stop operations; Effective for small and large projects. Suitable photography involves taking a pair of convergent images of the same scene from separate positions. 3DM Analyst is a set of specialised software tools designed to extract accurate 3D spatial measurements of coal by analysing images taken with digital cameras.

  7. Secondary Requirements • Coal sizing • Coal colour • Train • volume • Truck • volume • Conveyor belt 3D • volume

  8. Architectural layout MAJUBA COAL STOCK PILE

  9. Operational & Management Reporting • Providing a 'Managed System' reducing management overhead • Complete coal Internet Data hosting and reporting portal specifically designed for the utilities industry. • Using OCR to record all trucks / trains no and weight • Providing a central database that will store all vehicle records • Internet to view transactions & size of the coal stockpile • Providing an automated method on delivery of coal • Freeing staff from checking manually • on size of the coal stock pile • Alerts via SMS message / e-Mail / pop up • Share data between sites and head office • Providing monitoring cameras for • live viewof stock pile • Providing enforcement software for • prosecution on type of coal delivered. Coal Watch Solution

  10. Reporting and Management Uptime and site availability Lane / Department / Terminal / Location Sort By – License Plate / Name / Surname / Enroll ID / Time etc Sort by Period: Yesterday, Today, Last Week, This Week, Last Month, This Month, Month and Year, Date Range, All Current Year, etc Global Date Print to Screen, Printer or XLS everywhere Month end statements and customer reports; Average time on site, average weight, etc.; Coal category per site; Audit Trail • Nothing can be deleted • Movement of data to Current, Not Active or Deleted • Clocking data controlled by Status • Full history of changes of every record

  11. Data transmission: Medium to be used in conveying data ESKOM Network – primary OR Fixed line business ADSL iBURST – secondary - only if primary fails 3G or HSDPA– only if both primary and secondary fail • A wide range of communication links allow over 99.95% availability to automated database update in real time. This is essential for the provision for a real time solution. • An unlimited number of sites data can be transmitted to a central server where the data is made available in real time. If the data lines go down, up to 100 000 transactions can be stored locally, until the central server is available. DATA STORAGE • 2 servers with redundant storage backup

  12. Project Schedule Business and system analysis Roll out Strategy: 3 Phases Phase 1: Live, real time monitoring of stockpiles via IP digital cameras with 3D volumetric determination, allowing coal stock level reporting and alarm when below required levels. Phase 2: Weigh Bridge integration, OCR of trainsandtrucks Phase 3: coal sizing and coal colour, conveyor belts Whole project under Phungo IT, in charge of planning, supply and implementation. Phungo will be responsible for the supply of hardware ,cameras and servers. Phungo will sign an SLA with Eskom once the contract has been finalised. I-Cube is a software development company that will be responsible for software, database, 3D integration, imaging, coal classification and real time reporting. Training: ongoing, every month Post Roll out support:

  13. Cost Structure Prices: 4 options: BEE % of the project: Cost per ton of coal measured 64.55% Cost per transaction Fixed monthly cost Capital amount For the 3D volumetric service as a cost per ton of coal measured: Long term, complete solution: If the amount of coal used by ESKOM in 2007 was considered, the 1st power station costs R0.47,81cper ton of coal measured (0.3146% of the current spot price of a ton of coal) while all subsequent stations cost R0.21,63c per ton of coal (or 0.1423% of the current spot price for a ton of coal). Short term analysis (from 14-04 to 12-05) based on power stations having a 12 days stock pile (4 million tons of coal), the cost would be R925, 146.00.

  14. Cost Structure COST PER DELIVERY If a truck of coal was delivered every 6 minutes via truck or train, an option exists to pay for the advanced, 3D volumetric solution in terms of cost per transaction. The 1st power station costs R15.46 per truck or train delivered (transaction) while all subsequent power stations cost R8.44 per transaction. RENTAL If the complete solution, phase 1 to 3 of the advanced 3D volumetric measurement, was rented, the rental amount would cost R197,844.28per month for the 1st power station and R108,093.93for each subsequent power station CAPITAL AMOUNT Phase 1: 1st power station R 2 744,358.69; Subsequent: R 726,858.69 Phase 2: 1st power station R 1 012,737.20; Subsequent: R 762,737.20 Phase 3: 1st power station R 619,698.32; Subsequent: R 490,660.32

  15. Cost Structure Software: R 1 635 541.00 + R 46 003 (x 12) = R 2 187,577.00 Equipment: R 1 575 879.60 + R 1 014 797.32 (x 12) = R 13 753,447.00 Maintenance and support: R 25 933.33 (x 13) = R 337,133.30 monthly Consulting / project management: R 2 085,607.06 Data Communication: R 279,160 + R 211 238 (x 12) = R 2 814,019.00 (R 91,000.00 monthly) Infrastructure: R 531,298.08 x 13 = R 6 906 875.00 Warranties: R 7 565.19 + R 3 970.38 (x 12) = R 55,209.80 monthly TOTAL: R 28 139,868.73
