  2. In Poland many people belong to the Roman Catholic Church which is part of the Christian religion. Easter is a very important celebration. People remember that Jesus died on the cross on Good Friday but came to life again on Easter Sunday. Easter baskets contain symbols of Easter. On Easter Sunday special food is prepared and eaten.

  3. Do your family celebrate Easter? If so, maybe you would like to write or draw about your Easter celebration and put it here to share……….

  4. You can buy palms from the market.

  5. Look how colourful they are!

  6. Palm Sunday is the week before Easter. On Palm Sunday people take the palms to church.

  7. This is a modern church. Jesus is on the cross.

  8. Jesus is dead for three days.

  9. On Easter Day Jesus says, “I am alive!”

  10. The Easter baskets are in the church.

  11. The baskets are brought to be blessed with holy water.

  12. What can you see in the Easter basket?

  13. Can you see the palms again?

  14. Can you eat these eggs? What are they made of?

  15. A basket of beautiful coloured eggs….

  16. ….and these are really special too!

  17. People eat eggs and ham on Easter Sunday.

  18. Can you read the writing on the cake?..

  19. Do you think this one is too pretty to eat?

  20. Easter Monday is called smingus dyngus. See what fun they have with water!

  21. Why is this boy wearing his raincoat when the sun is shining?

  22. Anything that holds water will do!

  23. Gotcha! Boys squirt water on girls.

  24. Look out!

  25. But everyone can join in. The bigger the water squirter the better.
