AP: Legoman jumping

Teaching Finnish noun cases can be challenging due to their complexity. To make learning more engaging, students collaborated with their teacher to create PowerPoint "movies," each illustrating a different grammatical case using the word "mopo" (moped). Working in groups, they devised a storyline and captured photos to accompany each case representation. Over two lessons, they produced 7-9 grammatical cases enthusiastically, culminating in a film festival showcasing their projects. The winning team, Fanni, Suvi, and Marikki, impressed everyone with their adventure of Paavo and his friends.

  1. THE IDEA: -Finnishhas 15 differentnouncases, whichareinflectedforms of a noun . -Theyarehard to remember and it’squitehard to learnor understandthe idea of the parts of words.   3. Thenweformedgroups and gavethem the task: • Make a Powerpoint ”movie”, which is a story, and whereeveryslidepresentsonegrammatical case. • Firstmake a plan on the paper • Thenwe made photograph studio wherewetookphotosand then made the slideshow.
