  1. Sochi 2014performed by Andryan V., Khomutova O., Matveeva K.

  2. Presentation of 2007 • Sochi was selected as the host city on July 4, 2007, during the 119th I.O.C. Session held in Guatemala City , defeating bids from Salzburg, Austria, and Pyeongchang , South Korea. The Sochi Olympics will be the first Winter Olympics (and first Olympics altogether) for the Russian Federation, since the 1980 Summer Olympics were in Moscow when that was the capital of the Soviet Union.

  3. Slogan • Dmitry Chernyshenko called the slogan of the competition: «Hot. Winter. Yours». According to Chernyshenko, the phrase «in three words allows to show the diversity and character of Russia». The word «hot» at the same time transmit and venue of the games to Sochi and to «inflame sports passions». The word «winter» means the season in which the games are held, as well as the image that arises in the mind of the foreigners at the mention of Russia. «Yours» symbolizes that the upcoming Games will be «the Olympics of each»

  4. On Friday, 6 July 2007The IOC chose Sochi as the host of the XXII Olympic Winter games 2014 for several factors. One of the reasons was the fact that Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the event himself. Putin, an avid skier and black belt in judo, went to Guatemala to lobby IOC members and headed for the final presentation of Sochi in the competition for the Assembly.Another factor in Russia's new wealth from the export of Russian natural gas and oil, which has provided more than $12 billion for Putin to invest in Games and infrastructure around Sochi.

  5. Symbols • The three mascots of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games • On 26 February 2011, at 11.20 pm the final results of the public vote during the live television show "Talismaniya Sochi 2014 – The Final” were announced on the first Channel. The election council made the decision that the top-three characters with the maximum number of votes would all become the Olympic Winter Games mascots: • the Polar Bear (by Oleg Serdechniy, Sochi), • the European Hare (by Silvia Petrova, Chuvashia) • the Amur Leopard (by Vadim Pak, Nakhodka)
