  3. Terms • Habitat – Where an animal lives • Adaptation – Something an animal has or does that helps it live in its habitat • Camouflage – Blend in with the surroundings

  4. Polar Bear • Habitat: arctic • Adaptations: • Thick, wooly fur • Thick layer of fat • White coat (camouflage)

  5. Camel • Habitat: desert • Adaptations: • Hump • Weeks without drinking • Webbed feet

  6. Octopus • Habitat: ocean • Adaptations: • Dig holes under rocks to make underwater dens • Pile rocks to block • Change its color- camouflage

  7. Beaver • Habitat: lakes/streams by wooded areas • Adaptations: • Build dams from trees • Chisel-like teeth • Eat leaves, twigs, and tree bark
