  3. Thought #1 It CAN Happen to YOU • Take 5 minutes to think about the Risks of NOT accepting that notion • Impact on: • Brand • Business • Consumer trust/confidence • Shareholders • Employees

  4. Thought #2 PLAN AHEAD • Just in Case • Better to be prepared • Write it down • Literally create a Crisis Management Plan • Pre • During • Post

  5. Thought #3 Engage ALL Stakeholders • Internal • External • Consider Assigning a dedicated “Point Person” responsible for Crisis Management Plan

  6. Thought #4 DIG DEEP! • Review policies • Insurance coverage, new exclusions • Outline Areas of Exposure/Risk • Budget for Potential Crisis • Brainstorm potential Crisis scenarios

  7. Thought #5 • Use BEST PRACTICES to Power Success • Learn From Others Experiences • Review Other Plans • Track and Understand New FDA and Other Requirements • GMP’s • Expand Training and Awareness • Communicate Commitment to Crisis Planning/Management

  8. Thought #6 Have Systems for Success in Place • Not just lip service; won’t likely get you the results you need • Identify and gather missing pieces

  9. Thought #7 Enlist Professional Support • Not as a sign of weakness, rather a sign of seriousness • Legal • Insurance • Communications/PR • Employee Management • Safety Experts • Transportation • Etc.

  10. Thought #8 Communicate and Distribute “The Plan” • Review objectives • Describe role in success • Outline clear expectations • Put in place where many can locate, quickly… • Won’t be very helpful “on the shelf”
